The Limoncello Lifestyle and why you should want it
A stay at PS Limoncello is all about connecting with yourself, your loved ones, and your ambitions. Are you one of those people who gets their best ideas in the shower? I got through my advertising program at the University of Oregon by being the cleanest hippie in Eugene! Ha! The secret is relaxing, tuning out the noise of life, and having mental space to reflect and dream.
We don’t have enough of that in today’s world, and PS Limoncello hopes to give you a gentle, motivating place to discover (or rediscover) your bliss. We call it “Perfecting the Art of Leisure.” While the emphasis seems to be on leisure, it’s really the removal of stress that’s the key.
When my husband and I first laid eyes on PS Limoncello, it was over the Internet. We’d been looking for houses in Palm Springs and were captivated from the beginning by the photos of Limoncello’s unique roofline, friendly front door, and inviting landscape. The backyard oasis blew our minds and we couldn’t wait to experience those beautiful palms and charming cabana in person. We also knew instantly that being there would bring us peace. Even though we’ve made upgrades and changes since that time, we still believe that the inherent serenity of the lush backyard, the hummingbirds, and the bunnies, was there from the get-go.
The Limoncello Lifestyle, as we call it, celebrates the role of rejuvenation in our lives and how it prepares us to be our best selves when we return to day-to-day reality. Friends and family are part of that equation, and if you’ve ever gone on a team retreat, you know the power of bonding over shared activity.
Palm Springs in general is ripe with opportunities to connect, whether it’s externally with community (through causes, clubs, sports, neighborhood groups, and hobbies) or internally with friends, family, or simply yourself. We want PS Limoncello to be calm amidst the storm, the home base that restores you in preparation for all that the world is throwing at you.
If you want to work, we hope the tech infrastructure supports that. If you want to catch up on sleep, we want the beds to feel luxurious and dreamy. If you want to entertain and feed your Instagram, we want there to be plenty of ‘grammable spots to strike a pose. If you need to reset your fitness and wellness habits, there is plenty of space for yoga, meditation, and healthy cooking/meal prep.
Best of all, if you want to try out some variation of all of the above, Limoncello is ready!
In our dreams, PS Limoncello offers guests the opportunity to connect with what they really want out of life, give living the good life a try, and package that vibe in their hearts to take home.
Some ideas to get your motor running:
Invite friends to devote a weekend to hiking, cooking together, and reconnecting over shared interests.
Visit during a PS-based virtual event like Modernism Week’s Fall Preview and build a weekend (or longer) itinerary around streamed lectures/features and related-activities like self-guided tours.
Bring a work team to do a deep-dive retreat, meeting with others remotely and sharing socially-distanced meals together; rent multiple houses in the same neighborhood to create a retreat compound (just be mindful of any temporary occupancy limitations).
Roll with a full spa-focused self-care weekend: hire in-home massage, or visit one of the many amazing spas the Coachella Valley has to offer. Order some new candles and treats from one of the valley’s many unique gift purveyors (we love Luxxe Vintage Candles for their apothecary focused body care products and killer midmod vintage style). Hit the Farmer’s Market for the best produce around. Take a relaxing swim in our saltwater pool and make progress on your new favorite book. Dose yourself in Vitamin D from the glorious sun and slip into a silky caftan from Sheri Johnson before drifting barefoot through the damp grass with a cool, crisp beverage. Kick off a meditation practice and find the power of your breath through yoga. Pick grapefruit and lemons right off the trees!
Subscribe to an online cooking class (like these from local Chef Andrew Copely) with friends and make Limoncello’s grill and kitchen your bitches for a weekend. Chef Andrew’s offerings include live and recorded classes, along with ingredients lists, and — if you’re local for a live show — actual ingredients kits you can pick up so that you don’t have to shop! Weekly classes are currently posted through end of October 2020, and monthly membership to their service includes access to recordings of all past classes.
Many restaurants offer private event services, including Cork & Fork Wine Bar in nearby La Quinta. C&F presents private, mask-forward wine tastings and dinners crafted for small groups — and they also cater and can bring the action to you.
We believe in a slowed down version of life, where everything is beautiful and we have time and space to be our best us ever. Please share your Limoncello experiences, dreams, and transformations with #pslimoncello #artofleisure on Instagram and Facebook! Can’t wait to hear from you!
